Part 2. How to Clean a Pressure Cooker?

As we have to frequently use a pressure cooker, we would expect it to last and function as long as possible, but even the best pressure cooker requires careful maintenance. Here are some useful tips for cleaning a pressure cooker so as to prolong its lifespan. 

  • Remove the power supply

Whenever you have to clean any appliance, do remember to remove the power supply. It will not only prevent you from electric shock, but also a good time to check the cable.

  • Separate different parts

Separate the lid, inner pot and the outer shell of an electric pressure cooker. 

  • Clean the exterior 

Clean the exterior with a duster. Remember not to prevent any electronic component from getting wet. Use a tiny brush to remove food residue stuck in the cracks.


  • Clean the lid

Wash the lid with warm soapy water. If your pressure cooker cools down naturally in your daily cooking, there is usually only water left.   • Clean the inner pot and the steam rack
