What You Know About Projector Lamps

The projector lamp is undoubtedly an essential part to ensure quality images from an external source. And in general, the projector lamp is the first component that goes out. So you may need to replace the broken lamp or bulb with a new one. If the picture coming out from the projector dims slightly more than normal, it’s probably time to change the lamp.

Lamp Module vs. Bare Projector Lamp

Lamp Module vs. Bare Projector Lamp

When it’s time for the projector lamp to be replaced, it can be done in two ways: a pre-built lamp module, and simply the bare lamp.

  • A pre-built lamp module: has a projector lamp housed inside a plastic housing - you can install it very easily.

  • A bare lamp: you need to buy a separate housing that fits the bare bulb. Using a projector light bulb is more complicated and usually more expensive than a pre-built lamp module.

Therefore, we suggest you buy a pre-built lamp module instead of a bare lamp, no matter for the reason of processing or budget.

What to Consider While Buying A New Projector Lamp Replacement?

  • Compatibility: If you are on the way to buy a new lamp for the Epson home theater projector, the first thing to think about is the compatibility. If the projector bulb replacement is not compatible with your projector, it’s useless. So double check the specifications!

  • Lamp Wattage: The wattage of a projector lamp is rated differently according to the application of the projector.

  • Lamp Voltage: Check if the lamp voltage suits in the range of your current voltage.

  • Lamp Life: Most projector lamps can work 2,000+ hours. So if the number is less than 2,000, you may want to turn to other options.

There are more factors to consider, but you might not test it out without using the lamp. For example, the brightness. Money back or replacement warranty is also an additional value.
